It's Thursday evening. You've had seconds, maybe thirds of your mother/wife/or really good cook's special dish. And you're enjoying the company of family and/or friends and maybe you've even kicked back a few to celebrate a relatively good year.
And as the sun is gone and the moon rises, you decide that it's time to go shopping.
Admit it, these retailers have gone too far! And I'm not saying this because I have little resources to do the power shopping I did years ago while on salary. I had problems with people camping out overnight to get "deals" on things they probably didn't need in the first place.
And I've been sick to my stomach in recent as people have risked their lives by becoming part of a stampede at these big box stores. I'm talking to you, Wal-Mart!
While they NOW want to assure us that extra security measures will be taken, my question is why give in to begin with?
So there is nothing wrong with going out and getting caught up in the holiday rush but at what cost?
One thing that I miss about holidays past is that most of the people I enjoyed back then are no longer with me or that there are no more family dinners where we all just sat back, ate and laughed.
In other words, none of us is guaranteed tomorrow. But Wal-Mart, Sears and Target will be here.
