Free Video Marketing...Done Right

Last year, I took a class in Adobe Premiere and was pretty impressed.  The location was a little funky but the instructor was cool and didn't spend a lot of time talking about himself.  Also unlike my media instructor at CSUDH, his credits are recent.  However, one thing I discovered was that Premiere is almost no different than Movie Maker for the beginner.

The layout is different but the drag-and-drop features let you edit any recording taken with your smartphone or digital camera effortlessly.  Though I'm self-taught, this is one of many easy Movie Maker tutorials online.  Transitions are some of the best things a person can do for their video or slide presentation.

However, don't go overboard with the swipes and flip effects.

Also, if you have the opportunity to do a voiceover, please take it.  The reason is that not all built-in mikes reduce the "pop" sound that comes with saying words that start with B and P.  Audacity is still free and audio can be edited to alter voice slightly.

If you can take the time to use captions or other text to accompany the audio, do this also.  Only because you and your friends are used to your voice, the public may think differently.

With a little practice, you can have professional-looking video that are suitable for marketing your product or service.  You don't have to be perfect but you want your product to shine.  Below is an example of production quality video but the content is shinola.

Didn't know Black/AA folks liked chocolate, acorns, cinnamon and apple pie filling all at once....
